A typical brat, Amori, was born rich. Her room was pink, her dolls pink, her blankets pink, her hair pink--just everything about her florescently radiated pink. But Amori had a pink illness: "The Princess Syndrome". A syndrome that tricked girls into thinking they were princesses. With this package, they became spoiled, materialistic, and superficial.
That's how she lived her life, a self-proclaimed princess dreaming to be an idol diva.
Later on, when she was thirteen, she auditioned for a legendary music company. Now this agency was the factory that produced doll-like superstars. She tried out, shining like a pink star, confident that she would win . . . and failed.
But as a princess, she was supposed to get everything she wanted, right? A happily ever after? Of course, her parents bribed the music company with money. And of course, the company took her in for training.
Amori went under training for five years, but never saw her debut. Her parents and the company, knowing that she never had the talent, simply scoffed she wasn't ready, and shipped her off to college.
On Valentine's Day, she recieved fake roses from anonymous. The artificial, dusty pink roses were planted on a ceramic flowepot, with a button on the side that would light up the flowers in fragile pink light. When she rubbed the rose lamp, brushing off the dust, a boy her age floated out of the roses, shrouded in stardust. A genie.
"My first wish...I wish I was an idol singer!"
Overnight, her wish happened. Her video of her lighthearted song gained billions of views. The company was charmed and relunctantly made plans for her sudden debut next week. Her song echoed throughout the city where its' citizens were enchanted by her.
Fatigued by stardom, she bombed every exam. Which usually didn't worry her much, except that if she failed the last semester, she wouldn't be able to graduate.
"I wish I'd just get all A's!"
And so her grade converted into A's without a question. Her third wish was to fall in true love, yet it was against the genie's rules. It was the only thing missing from her life--a prince...
When her genie asked "Amori, before you make your last wish...," like a hiccup, it startled her from her melancholic dream. She was in the dressing room alone, and within one hour, her debut concert would begin.
"Well, when you make your last wish, I'll disappear, Amori." He flustered. "Well, I mean to the flowerpot again...I-I nevermind." He took a sigh, and gave a bow. "Please, tell me your last wish."
"No, no it's okay. Besides, my true last wish is against the rules."
"What is it?"
She giggled. "Ah...I want to fall in true love. Just like a fairytale."
"Well, I can't grant you that, but I promise...I'll help you find your love."
"Really?"
"Yes, really, I would for you, Amori. B-but if you could listen to my request?"
"Of course! Tell me!"
"W-would you spend your last wish for me?"
"...?"
"Can you wish you were a genie? I mean--look! If you wish you were genie, I'd rub the lamp, and I can have two wishes. And I'll spend my third wish to be a genie back. And we'll switch. Then nobody would be forgotten in the lamp!"
"I-I don't know..."
"Amori, listen! This means infinite wishes! And soon, we'll find your love."
"Alright...I-I wish that I was a genie!"

Her genie was kind to her, but loneliness had corrupted him. He wanted her to wish she was the genie, so he could rub the lamp and have wishes. Then he'd use his third wish to be a genie back. And while taking turns being the genie, they would have infinite wishes. But he also knew of the splitting pain of being sucked in and out of the lamp, and if they did that, soon enough the pain would tear them to pieces. He wanted nothing to do with the lamp, as he himself have been trapped for countless years... and as soon as he was freed, he ran away.
Amori had only an hour left before she could finally debut; she had only weeks before she finally graduated; she had happy years remaining before she met her true love. She was simply declared missing, and as years passed on, the world had forgotten her. Her dusty flowerpot of light-up roses, her lamp, remained untouched in the dressing room for 20 years.
In the lamp, it was like a dream world, like you were forever asleep. She became immortal as she was bound to the lamp. Her memories would repeat and she would dream about her future... The echos from the concert hall seeped inside the flowerpot, and she sang everyday. Until came a day where she stopped singing and the loneliness started to break her. She forgot many things. It became difficult to distinguish between the fake life she dreamt from reality. Then again, her life seemed fake too. Nothing was ever done with real effort. Just with artificial wishes. Just like a fake flower.
Maybe she would finally get out, after those long 20 years...
And this is what she will do:
- 1. Finish her goals, with her efforts
- 2. Get revenge on that boy
- 3. Be free from the lamp forever. Don't make the same mistake.
Waiting, and waiting . . .
She heard footsteps, voices, and the sound of the flowerpot lifted and carried--
Maybe, perhaps . . .
